CCTV Surveys

CCTV drains surveys involve passing a small camera through your drains system to identify any issues which are hidden from sight above ground. CCTV surveys (with video recording) of drains, pipes, and sewers provide an accurate, visual and cost effective way to detect any problems, find the source and help to establish the most economical repair options. The drainage engineer can precisely pinpoint the problem area without the need for expensive excavations. At this point a repair plan can be established and whilst a hole might need to be dug -it will be at the exact location of the problem thereby minimising subsequent costs and disruption. Once the excavation of the drain has been carried out and repairs made, drain relining can be completed by one of our drainage engineers.

Home Purchase CCTV Surveys

CCTV surveys are not only used for fault finding once a problem is suspected, it is now becoming common practice for potential home purchasers to schedule a such a survey before completing on the sale of a property. This identifies any potential and expensive problems. Underground drains might be invisible, but they should be considered as part of the overall home purchase assessment when buying a new house. Drainage systems can be very complex and repair work can be expensive if it involves digging up large areas of land. Acknowledging the potential high cost of drain repairs, CCTV surveys can be cost effective investments and pay for themselves many times over.

Lining & Excavating

There are two options for drain repair: lining and excavation, and replacement of worn out drainage systems. Drain lining does not require extensive work to extract the former drain structure. Instead, a new drain is laid within the existing drain, using it as a guide and adding further support to the existing drainage structure.

Drain Lining - no dig repairs without excavation.

Localine - Where defects are localised in a small area of the drain, this can be "patched" to produce a permanent high quality drain repair. Patches are applied by coating a fibre-glass mat with epoxy resin. The mat is then wrapped around an inflatable packer and pushed into position. The packer is inflated and the resin left to cure.

Section Lining - Where the drain is damaged along its length, the whole section can be lined. It involves the insertion of a lining 'sock', impregnated with a polyester resin fibre along the length of the damaged drain. It is then moulded into place using air or water pressure and left to cure. The result is a new fibre reinforced pipe within the old damaged pipe.

The benefits of lining as a drain repair solution are: Drain excavation requires full excavation and removal of the existing drainage system and replacement with new materials.

Drain excavation is normally used to:
